Sugar cookies

Markus and I had so much fun making sugar cookies last week. He loved rolling out the dough, cutting the shapes and putting them on the cookie sheet. Of course, the best part was when he started scraping up the bits of dough on the board and eating them. He thought they were pretty tasty.

The other day I made a batch of roll-out ginger cookies. Although I had been dreading the task, I made the dough, rolled, cut and baked and it hardly took any time at all. Why was I thinking it would be such a chore? Ahhh, I realized that my frame of reference was of doing just what these pics of Markus show - making cookies with the kids. HUGE DIFFERENCE! Jim and the kids and a couple of friends pitched in to decorate our batch, which was entertaining to say the least, so it's still a fun, and amazingly quick (now) endeavor. A classic activity, to be sure!
